Event Details

Kicking off the 2011-2012 Season of Transformation, the Boulder Symphony is partnering with the Cherry Creek Chorale and the Longmont Youth Symphony to present a truly transformational concert.  The highlight of the evening, if there even could be one with such great music on the program is the World Premiere of Gray Rain, freshly composed by Austin Wintory.

The work explores the meaning of life and death, and struggles to reconcile and accept the natural course of one's life from both an intellectual and emotional standpoint.  This work is the first in a trilogy that will highlight the transfomative elements of music and life, and can only be found the Boulder and Denver area as we enter a season of rebirth, rethinking and a true reawaking throughout the world.

Along with the Wintory premiere, on the program are the Gloria of Francis Poulenc, Johannes Brahms's Nanie and also his Variations on a Theme by Joseph Haydn, and Ralph Vaughan Williams's Toward an Unknown Region.

7:00 PM, Friday, October 14, First Presbyterian Church, 1820 15th Street, Boulder, CO 80302

7:30 PM, Saturday, October 15, Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 East Hampden Avenue, Cherry Hills Village, CO
